Bela Levine-Press

Early Childhood Associate Teacher

Bela earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Connecticut College and has spent the past two years working as an associate teacher in a Kindergarten and 1st Grade classroom at Cold Spring School in New Haven, Connecticut (she also attended Cold Spring as a child!). She has always been drawn to working with young children and was very fortunate to have warm, deeply impactful teachers during her early school years. While living in New York and working at Rodeph Sholom, she will also be pursuing a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education at Bank Street College. A fun fact about Bela: she was raised on a farm in Connecticut with over 30 animals!

Todd Loyd

Early Childhood Head Teacher & Social and Emotional Learning Coordinator, Middle School Drama Specialist

Todd joined Rodeph Sholom School in 2007 after beginning his education career in 1994. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of North Carolina School of the Arts and a Master of Science in early childhood and special education from Touro College, New York. What he finds most rewarding about Rodeph Sholom School is the intrinsically meaningful work itself—he learns something new from his students every day, particularly in the Early Childhood Division, where it all begins. Todd treasures the experience of now teaching 8th Grade students whom he first taught in the Threes program, and values how his colleagues have become great friends who push him to try new things and take on challenging opportunities. When not at work, he can be found hosting his podcast “Little Kids, Big Hearts,” seeing shows, discovering new restaurants, or researching his next trip abroad.

Charlotte Marsden

Early Childhood Floater

Charlotte is a Fordham University graduate who worked as a substitute teacher at Rodeph Sholom School before joining the team full-time in 2025. Interestingly, her mother also taught on the Upper West Side. What Charlotte loves most about teaching is witnessing her students’ creativity flourish as they are given the space and tools to express themselves.

David Medina

Assistant Director of Technology

David joined Rodeph Sholom School in 2021. He brings over 17 years of experience in technology, with the last 12 years focused on education. Prior to joining Rodeph Sholom School, David served as System & Network Administrator at Manhattan Country School for over 11 years. He attended New York University, where he was part of the Experimental Theatre Wing. He loves film in all genres except horror and enjoys reading Shakespeare, though his favorite author is Dickens.

Sally Meisner

Head of Middle School

Sally joined Rodeph Sholom School as Head of Middle School in 2023. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Science in Math Leadership in Education from Bank Street College of Education. Sally’s professional career has been marked by intelligence, warmth, a commitment to top-notch academic achievement, and a deep care and passion for middle school children and those who nurture their growth and development. During her 14 years at The Spence School, she taught middle school math, served as an advisor, Grade 7 Dean, Interim Co-Chair of the Math Department, and assessed candidates for the admissions office. Previously, Sally served as Lower and Middle School Math Coordinator at The Brearley School and as a 5th Grade teacher at Kent Place School and the Jewish Education Center in New Jersey. What she loves most about Rodeph Sholom School is the palpable energy, joy, and commitment of all members of the community. Sally is always game for a number, word, or jigsaw puzzle as well as a round of backgammon, Boggle, or mah-jong.

Lillian Menkens-Weiler

Communications and Operations Coordinator

Lillian holds a Bachelor of Arts in Film & Media Arts from American University’s School of Communications. She is also an alumna of a Jewish Day School and honed her experience in organizing and coordinating events, writing communications, preparing social media content, and engaging with parents during and after college. She joined Rodeph Sholom School in 2024.

Jackie Meyer

Chief of Staff and Operations

Jackie joined Rodeph Sholom School in 2013, marking her transition from corporate public relations to education. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Ithaca College with a major in marketing and communications and a minor in culture and communications. What she loves most about Rodeph Sholom School is the culture and warm community that radiates from students and parents to faculty and staff. Similar to the school’s 8th graders, Jackie finished her senior year of high school with a three-month trip to Israel. She is also the proud mother of two boys.

Sonia Morris

Early Childhood Associate Teacher

Sonia graduated from Fordham University with a bachelor’s degree in English and a Minor in Mandarin. She has spent the past two years working as an Early Childhood Assistant Teacher in New Rochelle. In her free time, Sonia enjoys creating art projects and playing with her cats.

Elementary Head Teacher & Chess Team Coordinator

Josh joined Rodeph Sholom School in 2005. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and a Master of Arts from New York University.
