Birthdays at Camp:
We will celebrate camp birthdays in two ways. First, we will provide birthday crowns and stickers to counselors so that they can celebrate individual campers’ birthdays within their bunks. Secondly, for all campers to participate in birthday celebrations, we will give out allergy-free cookies every Wednesday for the campers to enjoy. Parents are not permitted to send in birthday snacks or gift bags of any kind.
Carnival Day & More!:
Throughout the camp season, we hold several special event days. Our carnival day is a camp favorite! We bring in bouncy castles and carnival games as well as popcorn for the campers to enjoy. Dress Up Days and Daily Themes:
Information about dress-up days will be included in the camp calendar, which will be sent to you before the first day of camp. The calendar will also include daily themes, activities, and whether each day’s lunch is meat or dairy.
Our Pre-K and Kindergarten campers will enjoy exciting field trips throughout the summer! On field trip days, please dress your child in their camp T-shirt.
We will provide lunch and snacks for all campers. If you prefer to pack your own lunch on field trip days, please send non-perishable items that travel well (no refrigeration needed).
A permission slip listing all scheduled field trips for the summer will be sent to families before camp begins.
Swimming and water safety are critical skills for children to learn. These skills allow children to be confident and safe in the water now and in the future. All campers work with Red Cross-certified instructors to become confident, safe, and capable swimmers. All swimming takes place in our on-site, outdoor pools.
All campers will swim once a day, having both instructional and free swim during their swim time. During these sessions, they will learn the joys of being in the water while developing foundational swimming skills. Lifeguards will also help to work on strengthening our campers’ swim skills with different exercises.
Campers will also have the option of signing up for swim lessons (for an additional fee) after the camp day ends.
Every Friday, campers celebrate Shabbat together with a fun and interactive sing-along led by our music specialist. Campers will enjoy their favorite Shabbat songs and learn the blessings for candles, grape juice, and challah from our clergy.
Every Wednesday, campers participate in our Maccabiah games—an Olympic-style competition where each bunk represents their assigned team color. On Fridays before Shabbat, counselors and staff compete in “roll call” games to earn stars for their teams.
Every day, campers participate in “Specials”—activities led by professional instructors and teachers. Specials include sports, STEAM, music, theater, and art. Our specialists design age-appropriate, hands-on experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, and collaboration through exploration and process-based learning.
You will receive a comprehensive camp calendar before the first day of camp. This calendar includes daily themes, dress-up days, scheduled activities, and whether each day’s lunch is meat or dairy.
