Matt Teitelman

Matt joined Rodeph Sholom School in 2023, bringing his diverse background in Jewish education and music to the community. He holds a Master of Jewish Education from Hebrew College, where he was awarded the Harry H. Fein Memorial Prize for outstanding achievement as a graduate student in Jewish Education. He studied Torah and Talmud at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem and taught at Hannah Senesh Community Day School prior to joining Rodeph Sholom. His educational foundation also includes a Bachelor of Music from Rutgers University, which led to over a decade as a professional drummer and percussionist, during which he performed on a Grammy-nominated, platinum-selling album and taught drums and percussion to children of all ages. This unique combination of Jewish educational training and musical expertise allows him to bring creativity and depth to his teaching approach. Outside the classroom, Matt enjoys making music with friends and dreaming about building an urban kibbutz with his family.
