Head of Middle School Named as new Associate Head of School

Head of Middle School Maxine Borenstein has been named as the new Associate Head of School for Rodeph Sholom School beginning in Summer 2018.
Beginning in July 2018, the current Head of Middle School, Maxine Borenstein will be taking on the role of Associate Head of School, a newly created position at Rodeph Sholom School.

Maxine will continue to lead the high school placement process at RSS in addition to her new all-school responsibilities. Maxine and her team have established an extraordinary reputation among the many high schools our graduates attend, and their record of success is exceptional. We are thrilled to have this team continue their individualized partnerships with families in finding the right high school for each of our 8th graders. Maxine will also focus her talents and strategic thinking on key school-wide initiatives and curriculum.

Rodeph Sholom School has already initiated an international search for a new Head of Middle School for the 2018-19 school year, retaining the search firm Independent Thinking to support RSS in finding the right educator to lead our Middle School forward.

While RSS is excited about our future directions, we must take a moment to look back with appreciation on Maxine’s seventeen years of service in our Middle School. She has built an outstanding program in which adolescents can learn and be challenged to be the best they can be. She has hired many outstanding teachers over the years and created structures that have allowed generations of self-confident leaders to embark on successful careers in high school, college, and beyond. Rodeph Sholom School owes her a deep gratitude for bringing our Middle School to where it is today, and Maxine shares in our excitement as we consider where we can go in the future with fresh eyes leading it forward.

Please join us in congratulating Maxine Borenstein as she prepares to embark on this next chapter of her leadership service to RSS.
