4th Grade Visits Bronx Zoo As Part of Reading Curriculum
As part of the RSS 4th Grade Reading curriculum, students learn the features of nonfiction text through the study of a specific animal.
In class, students gain note taking skills and learn how to read, analyze, and apply information gathered from reading factual text. Through the course of this unit, each fourth grader becomes an expert on a particular animal by reading and researching about its habitat, social group, diet and other interesting characteristics. Today we visited the Bronx Zoo to enhance our research and learn more about endangered animals and animal habitats.
