Sarah Mlynowski was born in Montreal, Canada. As soon as Sarah learned to read, she knew she wanted to be an author. She wrote her first book, Lizzie Forshort
, when she was in fourth grade. It was about a girl named Elizabeth (Lizzie for short) who won the lottery. Sarah’s mom typed the story up and then mailed it to Bantam Books. They sent her back a very nice rejection letter. But Sarah kept writing.
Sarah studied English literature in college. After she graduated, she went to work for a publishing company. While she was there, she wrote and sold her first novel, Milkrun
, which was for grownups. Eventually, Sarah became a full-time writer. She has written thirty-five novels, including the New York Times bestselling series Whatever After
and Upside-Down Magic
(along with Lauren Myracle and Emily Jenkins).
Sarah’s books have been translated into twenty-nine languages and many have been sold to Hollywood. In fact, Disney is developing Upside-Down Magic
as a TV movie right now! Sarah now lives on the Upper West Side with her husband and two daughters. She loves to read, travel, and hang out with her family. To read more, please visit www.sarahm.com
